Day Five Photography

After spending the week practicing and getting comfortable with our cameras, it was time to learn how to enhance and alter our images. We met with Lauren in the morning and he worked individually with us to enhance our favorite images. Our sponsor is a photoshop expert so he was able to teach us the basics and allow us to make our images pop and take them to the next level. The afternoon was spent playing around with photoshop and gaining an understanding of all the controls.

It's amazing how much the image can change just by adjusting the brightness and adding a few layers. This photoshop skill is pretty addicting and I keep finding myself experimenting and getting more comfortable with the application. Beyond the pictures of  Cleveland that we're taking, I hope to spend some time enhancing previous pictures I've taken all around the country. It is a very useful skill and I'm glad that I'm learning it now rather than later. Eventually, we will photoshop Good Greens bars into each shot and turn these into an advertising campaign centered around Cleveland. After week one I can say that I've learned a ton about photography and am looking forward to turning our pictures into advertisements. Below is a before and after picture taken at the Zoo.
