Court

I didn't know what I was expecting when I came to court. I knew for sure that Law & Order had skewed my views of what typically happened in a courtroom. But I certainly wasn't disappointed  Upstairs in court there were 4 traffic cases, overdue tickets and things along those lines, but downstairs, things got a lot more interesting. For starters Judge Bozza didn't like b.s., she wasn't going to beat around the bush and she wasn't going to listen to someone's lies. There was no use in trying to talk around the facts, because she would call you out in a second if she suspected anything but the truth.

The cases downstairs were theft, drug possession, sealing records, and for one very unfortunate man who was charged with theft and attempted to skew his urine sample ended up getting 32 days in jail. It was interesting to see this side of the law as it's sort of like the ending point. I also got to meet with the prosecutor, and I thought that was pretty educational.

Lee was sure to tell me, before I left, that I better be in the courtroom one day, but at the very least I should do something that I love.
