Day Five Photography

Today commenced our journey into PhotoShop. I woke up this morning and downloaded the free trial because of the high price of PhotoShop. Yet, I'm already trying to think of ways to beg my parents for it because I am so interested in it. Lauren met us early this morning to walk us through the basics and not so basics of PhotoShop. When we met with him, he worked with each of us individual on certain pictures and showed us the skills he uses to enhance his pictures. The most interesting skill I think I learned was the ability to warp buildings so that they appear straight to the eye. When you take a picture of a city scape you realize how warped building tops will be because of how wide angle lenses function. However, with the help of PhotoShop you can solve all these minute problems. The other skills we learned revolved around making pictures pop and bringing life to seemingly dull images. This image we took yesterday while downtown and through the next image you can see how well I can transform this picture.
I cannot wait to continue my work with Lauren, as every day I am learning more than I ever thought I would. The afternoon will be spend working in PhotoShop on the rest of our best images.
